This is a post focusing on a particular band/duo who really caught my attention about 5 years ago when the released their single JCB song.

I am of course talking about Nizlopi.

Nizlopi until recently consisted of Luke Concannon and John Parker.

A difficult band to categorise, they seem to have a lot of modernity to their music which seems to be fused towards folk, even a bit of distinctly british RnB.

I very recently found out that the band officially split last year, a true shame.

Here is a video of them performing my favourite song from their album ‘half these songs are about you’

Freedom – Live

But they are probably best known for the JCB song.

Here it is, video and all.

You can find the album on Amazon.

It’s hard to explain how i feel when listening to this music, their songs do speak to me on an emotional level even though the sound is not one i could typically appreciate.

A one off i think, i definitely recommend you check them out.

Sadly they never did seem to reach mainstream fame except for a brief success with JCB song, although i get the impression that they did very well in Europe.

I feel they deserved so more more success though.

Anyhow you can read more about them on Wikipedia.

Thanks for stopping by.
